Well by nature (yes by birth) I am a feminist. I rarely sympathize with guys. I rarely feel good abt them - i do have loads of frnds who are guys i do appreciate them but at times I am more strict in their matters compared to girls I do have a every soft corner for women as they go through so much, be it menstrual cycles or child birth, putting up with bf. Husband in laws and of course our Indian society which is so biased, (so biased)^ 111111 blames girl for any issue or problem. If the kid does not study or behave properly mom is held responsible (why? wht the hell dad was doing other than screwing around ?) a girls husband is not proper she gets blamed!! (Why? isn't the guy elder to her by at least 4 yrs mature enuf ?). They expect girl to work outside, inside the house take care of everything (bonded labor?) and label everything under the brand name "Love" it’s her "love" for her family. What crap? guy does not love his family ? Then why not he make sacrifices? In spite of all these men around are so self centered and so ungrateful! and so arghhh.

Well don't get me wrong with so many things against men/guys i did feel thankful today.

iam thankful to all the men/guy who helped me/ guided me or were with me at some point of time. Be it grand dad, dad uncle, cousin, friends, neighbours, etc. They all did make me feel special. They made sure they were there for me when I needed them the most.

May be all men are not that bad :-P may be few are tolerable :-P

Who said there are no angels? I met one today :)

after work felt like browsing through the stores. Did a lil bit shopping for pasta and Italian seasonings and then chips and sauces. was engrossed in shopping as I was not looking to buy but just to know about products in the aisle. Started out around 8 15 or so. It was slightly snowing outside. had my umbrella up.

BTW my famous hat is lost!! Yes I think I lost it in the bus today evening not sure though. Hope I have left it at my gym. Hope I find it in my gym tomorrow.
Okay back to the topic. With umbrella up in on hand and one hand pushing the cart, urs truly was slowly treading towards the apartment complex. It would take her at least 10 - 15 minutes to reach home. With the given weather condition I wonder how long would it take for her.

Then as urs truly was speculating pros and cons of shopping over week day versus week end, night versus day, no license no car life etc etc, a car stopped beside. it was a sliver colored car. Seemed like an old model though. a Lady inside asked me " you are going towards apartment?".
Urs truly was perplexed and she gave a blank nod stating yes and mumbled something under her breath. Lady in the Car offered a ride. Saying I would drop you home. Well urs truly had 1 second to decide!!!!!! BTW urs truly has never decided anything in such a short span of time in her life so far: P so urs truly numbly agrees and parks the cart in the side and picks all her belonging and sits in the car. Its a lady in red sweater/shirt. She too was out here to shop. Then urs truly settled comfortably in the seat and started conversation with the lady. She happens to be Mexican and her name is Patricia. Her family members are in California and she was staying in our apt complex and shifted recently (as told by her) we saw that rear gate to the complex was closed and she took me around and we went to the front entrance. She then asked for my building number and she dropped me till the door of my apt complex lift!! . She said “i don’t like to see people walking in this weather. Thanks for trusting me and coming "
URS truly was all smiles and was feeling warm in the car and said "Thanks a ton for the lift, it is very nice of you"
Then she offered the lady to come over for a cup of coffee but lady said she g2g and Lo she dropped and she left after I took the lift. I donno from where she came and where she left. But for me she is an angel :) who helped me reach home safely.

Was dead tired by EOD due to work and work -outs and homework hit bed around 11 pm and din't wake up till 6 30 or so.
World around looks beautiful with snow covered roofs and trees and reminds me of the old movies that depict Kailash or Vykunta, where our gods reside. May be gods were in US then before Amerigo Vespucci discovered US and then after that went some where else to maintain privacy

Was listening to this online and thought what triggered the interest and Lo here is the post :-)

My love for kannada literature got re- kindled after i came to US . where i was dying to speak my mother tongue. even though i had few friends who could speak kannada, didn't have any one with whom i could discuss the literature and literary works Back home i was an voracious reader of all kannada magazines, novels, news paper short stories and even hand outs :P. Along with that i would read readers digest , outlook ,other English magazines and news paper.
First few months in US were a lil dread ful with home sickness and other things. Slowly i started getting used to the idea of living with room mates, being independent, trying to recognize people's intensions, being tactful, being more responsible with house hold chores, more work, socializing etc.

In midst of all these things the hunger for knowledge was kinda taken backseat. Yet it would scream inside at times.
Found few online Kannada forums, news papers and music to satisfy my self temporarily. When i would try to speak to my friends or room mate (i had one frm blore once) about Kannada literature i would get looks as if i were from some alien planet. Yet I would bore them with my talks:-P.
But recently i met 2 people who share the same passion as me for kannada literature. One Mr V be happens to a friend and colleague will be my distant relative as he is marrying my distant relative (some connection from dads side) and a distant relative from my moms side who happens to be this guys best friend (Mr A ).

First when i spoke to Mr V i was over whelmed with happiness. We had the same frequency almost same ideas and same passion. He is one of the very few guys whom i have met speaks very pure Kannada!! i was impressed :)
We did discuss about the poets, singer, books, and philosophy what not. Well he too writes poems and articles. This guy got me thinking again to reconsider my passions in life

Mr A whom i had met several years back at family functions seemed to be a meek quiet soul initially but turned out to be a tiger! He too wrote poems and articles. All the three of us shared same taste in music, theaters, arts, movies and lust for travel. It felt good to meet some one who is pretty much like me after such a long time!

Some how guys i met before never rekindles any spark in me. either they were too boring and too normal or they were eccentric. Either way never held my interest to talk to them for long! But these two make me feel that i was a normal person:- P nothing alien about me. Its just that iam a lil different from normal people (no iam not insane if thats wht u are thinking) . I guess they were the ones who inspired me to write poems.

This post is to thank them :-) i rediscovered a part of me again.

I now make a list of things to bring back from india when i visit next time
1. cds/dvds of all the kannada songs i like
2. kaanuro subbamma hegagdathi book/soft copy and other works by kuvempu
3. manku thimmana kagga- By DVG ( nned to see if i acn order it online)
4. Visit Ranga Shankara and watch few plays
5. Visit Chitra Kala Parishat for some art exhibition
6. Go trekking (any place)
7. Attend dance and other cultural programs at Ravindra kalaksehtra
8. Try to meet up few literary ppl and see wht they think about my poems and articles and print them if i can

and list goes on :)
